Lately, I have heard so many people say how difficult direct sales is.
“Its hard.” “I can’t get any opt-ins.” “I can’t get people to sign up.” “This just isn’t for me.” “I didn’t know how difficult it would be.”

Well, I am Mom of two who, before joining the direct sales
family, held down a 60+ hour job. I would get up at 4:00 in the morning and not get to bed until midnight most nights, after returning from my job, I had very little time with the kids. with the kids.

That, my friends, is difficult.

It is difficult always having to lower your dreams to meet your means. It is difficult to miss your daughter’s ballet practice because you have to work. It is difficult knowing the rust bucket you call a car is eating you alive in maintenance, but you can’t afford a new one. It is difficult to realize that someone else is going to watch your daughter take her first step or have her say mama to the preschool teacher.

It is difficult knowing that you have spent 40 years of your life working
for someone else, only to realize that you will be retiring on one-third
of what you can live on today. Or, worse yet, it is difficult knowing that you have diligently worked all your life, only to be given an early
retirement and replaced by someone younger, more capable.

I will tell you what is difficult. It is difficult waking up one morning
and realizing that your children, the most precious things imaginable, no longer need bottles, diapers, have tea parties, or are shorter than the baseball bat they are trying to swing. It is difficult realizing it is too late and that the time frittered away can never be retrieved. It slips through our fingers one second at a time.

It is also difficult watching the spark in your partner’s eyes fade
because both of you realize the house you have been wanting is just a
dream because someone else is controlling your finances.

We have nasty habits about rationalizing, procrastination and skirting
important things, rather than facing the issues. Too often we allow others who do not pay our bills, who do not share our dreams, to direct our futures.

As children we have absolutely no freedom; we rebel in our teens and
scream for freedom. We reach adulthood and are finally free, only to
relinquish that freedom because we think it is too difficult. We do not
want to take responsibility. We do not want to make a wrong decision, so we obligingly give that awesome power to someone else. We wake up too late. We hear ourselves uttering phrases like: “I wish I had only . . .” and “If I could do it over again.”

You have no one but yourself to blame. You had the chance. Perhaps the opportunity was presented many times and each time you elevated the trivial to a higher priority than yourself.

Let me ask you: Is direct sales really difficult?

Is it so traumatic to show someone an exciting product or idea? Is it so
difficult to understand that if you work this marketing idea for three to
five years, you just might finally be able to send your children to a
college chosen by excellence, rather than one chosen by price? That you
could finally put your family in the home of their dreams?

Would you work really hard for eight to ten years, so you could mold a
lifestyle of your choosing, so your family could live a lifestyle of their
dreams, rather than trying to live how someone else thinks you should live?

How difficult is it to pick up the phone and call your prospect? How
difficult is it to place ads? How
difficult is it, really, to share what you love with others? Think about it.

Realize the awesome power you have in your hands with direct sales. There
are people out there working three jobs. There are people drowning in
debt; or agonizing through bankruptcy, realizing they only needed a couple
hundred more dollars per month. That is difficult!

This business you have chosen has the ability to change lives. Direct
sales cannot do anything. But YOU can change lives with it. You are the
one with the life-changing ability. What are you waiting for?

There is difficulty and pain in success, and there is difficulty and pain
in failure. Difficulty and pain in success will last a short period of
time; but pain in failure lasts a lifetime. Which one is really more difficult?

You will pay a price for your actions, and your choices.

Which choice will you make?

Since our early years, we have been programed to think that it is normal to work a 9-5 job, and in many cases live paycheck to paycheck. We saw our parents do it, our friends and neighbors. We were brought up to thing that that life still is normal.

JOBs are fixed. You get a fixed income, your have a glass ceiling on your income, you are told when and where to work and you make someone else richer. The one thing that I hated more than anything else was working hard, meeting all the demands and then to be told that I need to wait for the next promotion or pay increase. And, forget about any personal issues while at work. NO phone calls, NO personal time off and you practically have to beg to take care of your sick children. You basically give up everything that is important (time, children, household, etc) and work all year to get (maybe) a 3%-5% raise. It was amazing that when you did something wrong the boss would point it out, but when you did something good they never appreciated your efforts.

So…here is the truth…You go to work to make someone else richer, follow their rules, take orders, get reprimanded and never get paid what you are worth. IS THAT WORTH IT? You don’t have to settle for this just because you were programmed to think this way from years ago.

Also, people look for a Quick Buck. Those Get Rich Quick Deals. Sorry to disappoint you, but they don’t exist! Those are scams and you will be taken for your money. If you could make $10,000 overnight, wouldn’t everyone be doing it? Think about it!

If you have fallen for one of those scams, you have a right to be leery. No one wants to invest hundreds, if not thousands of dollars on a scam. Unfortunately, those scams give the real opportunities a bad name. I can not tell you how many people I talk too who shut down the idea of a home based business.

You hear people say, “I want to work from home, but I don’t want a home based business, they don’t work” You will find many people don’t even know what a home based business is.

One of the biggest reasons people think that home based businesses are a scam is that many require that you invest money into it first before starting your new business.something to work from home is a scam. They say “I shouldn’t have to pay money to work for someone or a job.” That is correct, you should NEVER pay a fee to work a job like typing, data entry or any other job. BUT a home based business is not a job, it is a career or something of your own. There is no way you can open a McDonalds without investing money, right? Well, it is the same concept, you cannot start a home-based business without investing something. You are investing into your future.

Below are some REAL home jobs:
1. Telecommuting – ask your employer about making your job telecommuting.
2. Freelancing – writers, photographers, web designers and programmers.
3. Specialized skills – specialized skills like teachers, psychologists, medical profession, medical transcription or medical billing.

If you have the ability to do any of those because of your background or education, you are lucky! Most people are not able to do any of those types of work from home jobs except for something entry level. Realistically, entry level jobs are not attainable or legitimate.

Most people that I talk with who have been looking for something to do from home have been looking for 6 months – 3 years. I know this for a fact, because people tell me how long they have been looking. People look that long and may not be working from home, because they are looking for something entry level. You would think if anyone has been looking that long that maybe they would find an alternative.

Do you think it is time to reprogram your mind so you can finally work from home and make money? I am sure your answer is yes.

If you are serious about finding that right opportunity to work from home, Reprogram Your Mind To Work From Home

Let me ask you:

- Do you really want to work from home?
- What is your “why”? Why do you want to work from home?
- Are you tired of living check to check?

Most people can answer these questions, and would realize working from home is in their best interest.

Can you see it? Do you want the freedom to work from home? Put your reasons down on paper and really look at them. Consider what it is you truly desire. And, read it over and over again! If you are truly ready…let’s get to it!

So, what are the options? HOME-BASED BUSINESS.

If you want to work from home, you want to succeed, you are motivated, and you want to make a nice income, then a home-based business makes sense.

Keep your reasons handy, write down questions and get ready to ask them someone who is working with a company you maybe interested in. Research the company and make sure it is not a scam. Do your homework and you will find the perfect match. Get all the facts and make an educated decision.

There are MANY Benefits of a home-based business:

1. Tax write offs – you can write off your start up kit, up to 75% of your internet service, office supplies, office equipment, mileage, a portion of your house/utilities, and anything monthly expenses to maintain the home business. Most people do not realize all the tax benefits. You would not be allowed write offs if you worked an outside or inside job.

2. Income potential is endless – You have the opportunity to make more money then you would a 9-5 job.

3. Working with a company that has been in business for 5 years or more, there is less risk of being scammed.

4. More then likely you can will your business to a child or someone.. Where as with a job, if you pass on so does the income.

5. It is a life long career – and as time passes on, you will be more knowledgeable and get paid your worth.

Why did I choose a home based business? Because I wanted to get out of corporate America, I was tired of doing everything for a promotion and then being turned down. I was tired of the long hours and no time with my family. Did I do my research before starting ? Absolutely! I found the right opportunity for me and my family and have never looked back.

Do you feel the same way? If you choose a company where they have been in business over 5 years, has something people want and need, a member of Dun & Bradstreet there is not as much risk and the changes of being scammed are less likely. Especially, with a home based business where you earn a residual income – income every single month for a one time effort, your income is endless.

Think about this.. You join a company for a reason. You would not join a company unless you believe in the company, product/service or know that it is something people want, right?

The reasons I chose the home-based business I am working with:
1. No product to store in my house.
2. No home parties or door to door sales.
3. Company has been in business for 17 years, DSA.org and Dun & Bradstreet.
4. They have a product/service people need and want.
5. It is residual opportunity – earn an ongoing check for that one time effort.
6. They have a system in place, where if you follow it there is no room to fail.
7. There is training and support.
8. Opportunity to help people work from home and help people save money!
9. Make money just from flyers and brochures being left.
10. Low investment to get started.

I made the switch. Are you ready?

I mentioned last Monday in my blog that my youngest daughter forgot her library book at home. Because I work from home I was able to be her ‘hero’ that day and return the book for her before her library time. Well…today was an AMAZING day of coincidence and fortune…..

My oldest daughter, who is in 4th grade, worked for 2 weeks on her latest school project: a Powerpoint presentation and discussion. I emailed the teacher the file last night and it took 15 minutes to send. I thought it was quite odd, but it did finally go through. Or so I thought.

Around 1:30 I discovered that the email had bounced. The file never arrived at school. My heart just sunk. I quickly grabbed a CD, copied the file and speed to the school.

When I arrived, I could see my daughter standing at the head of the class. I heard the teacher say ‘Let me just find the file real quick and you can begin.’. I walked in and said ‘Looking for the Powerpoint presentation? Here it is!’.

I could not have timed it better! I arrived at the precise moment she needed the file. The smile on my daughter’s face was amazing.

I came through for her today just like I did for my Kindergartner on Monday. I was a hero to both my girls. I wouldn’t have been able to do it if I were working downtown.

I gave up corporate America 5 years ago this month and have never looked back! I make more today than I would ever make in corporate America and I am always available to my kids to be there hero when they need me!!!

This morning, as I dropped off my little girl at school, I asked her if she had her library book. With a sad little frown, she said ‘No’. She was very concerned that all the other kids would be able to pick out a new library book today and that she wouldn’t be able to. I quickly told her that I would go home, pick up the book and drop it off at the library before she had her library time. She was still confused, but I told her not to worry about it and to just pick out a new book.

This afternoon when I picked her up, she had the biggest smile on her face. She had picked out a great new book and was eager to get home so that I could read it to her.

Thank goodness I work from home! It is moments like these that leave lasting impressions on our kids. I was her hero today! Because I work from home and don’t have a time card to punch, a boss to explain things to, etc., I was able to take care of my daughter and her ‘life threatening emergency’ this morning. It’s moments like these that make me feel like I’m the best mom I can be!

Several years ago, I began a home based business opportunity. At the time, I had no idea how to succeed in the network marketing industry. I was clueless to say the least. I had no idea that there were tools in place to help work at home individuals.

For several months, I ‘found my way’ through the learning process. Eventually I was able to reach my goal of working 100% at home with my children. I also reached my income goal of $150,000 per year. Through my journey I realized that my passion really was in helping others find their way and achieving the goals.

I’ve helped hundreds of people reach their goals. Whether it was to earn a couple extra hundred dollars a month, a couple thousand, etc. Several wanted to fire their boss and be home with their kids which I completely understand. What ever their goals, I helped them along the way.

I’ve put together a list of tools, utilities, helpful tips and suggestions on a website that I manage. It’s www.WorkAtHomeMatters.com. Please take a look. If you find something that helps you in your current business, or if you find the right opportunity for yourself, please let me know by contacting me through the website. I love hearing success stories!
